Technical Writer / Trainer

Remote   •   US/Canada   •   Product Team

Pulse Labs is seeking a skilled Technical Writer / Trainer to join our team on a 6-month contract. Backed by industry giants Google and Amazon, Pulse Labs is a leading UX research firm at the forefront of revolutionizing product development. Our mission is to provide insightful, actionable, and easily comprehensible feedback throughout the product lifecycle—from conception to market launch and beyond. Through our innovative approach, we empower leading tech companies to refine and create groundbreaking products across mobile, smart home, wearables, and automotive.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, adaptable, and collaborative professional to help us strengthen both our internal and external knowledge base. In this role, you will create and maintain participant- and client-facing documentation, as well as internal and external help content to support our platform evolution. You will also design and deliver training initiatives—helping onboard new team members and equipping staff with the knowledge they need to adopt new product features and functionality with confidence. Strong project management skills, clear stakeholder communication, and the ability to collaborate across departments will be critical to your success in this role.

This role is 100% remote, with flexible hours within US/Canada time zones based on project needs.

About You

You thrive at the intersection of technical detail, project execution, and stakeholder alignment. You enjoy translating complex concepts into content that’s intuitive and accessible—whether that’s documentation for clients, FAQs for research participants, or training materials for internal teams. You’re a strong collaborator who can work across functions, keep multiple projects organized, and ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain participant- and client-facing help documentation, FAQs, and support content for our platform.
  • Create internal knowledge base articles, process guides, and technical documentation to support Customer Support and Research Services teams.
  • Ensure all help content evolves in step with our platform—capturing new features, functionality, and workflows as they are released.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to document platform updates and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Manage documentation and training projects end-to-end, including timelines, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication to gather inputs, confirm accuracy, and ensure materials meet the needs of different audiences.
  • Design and deliver training content (guides, presentations, walkthroughs, etc.) to help onboard team members and support adoption of new functionality.
  • Track and maintain version control and updates as products evolve, ensuring project consistency and timely delivery.
  • Identify gaps in existing documentation and proactively propose improvements or new initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, training, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver work on schedule.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with proven ability to simplify complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency with productivity tools (Google Suite or Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SaaS, UX research, or technology environments.
  • Familiarity with help content and knowledge base platforms (e.g., Zendesk, Confluence, Notion, or similar).
  • Experience with creating multimedia training content (presentations, video tutorials, or walkthroughs).
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across Product, Engineering, and Customer Support functions.
  • Comfort operating in a frequently changing, fast-paced environment.

Perks

  • A collaborative and excited team.
  • We value autonomy, allowing you to choose the configuration that makes you most productive.
  • Able to work remotely anywhere in country.
  • Continuous learning and up-skill opportunities.
  • We love ideas, innovation and experiments!
